In an early build of the game, Edric was named '''Desslock'''. A knight by that name appears in [[Kreegan#Kreegan reference|Kreegan reference]]{{-wll}}. This Desslock serves as {{Hn|Xanthor|0=}}'s guide on a trip to the [[Contested Lands]]. He may or may not be a different person than Edric. The name is a reference to the Gamespot reviewer Stefan Janicki (aka "Desslock"). Desslock was likely also the inspiration for the [[Seer's Hut#Seer names|default seer name]] ''Esslock''.
