By default, Tavin is not playable, but he may be enabled in custom scenarios in the map editor. 

== Story ==
The vengeful leader of [[Tavin's Guerillas]], a halfling insurrection against the [[Kreegan|Kreegans]] after the [[Night of Shooting Stars]]. During the early 1170s [[AS]], Tavin and his comrades joined forces with the [[Great Conflux]] and [[Erathia]], finally liberating their homeland after nearly a decade.

Uncharacteristically for a {{Cn|Halfling (Factory)|name=Halfling}}, Tavin left his home village of his own free will to join the [[Erathia|Erathian]] border guards. There he served with {{Hn|Xarfax|0=}} for 15 years. On the [[Night of Shooting Stars]], Tavin went to rendezvous with him, only to nearly be killed when the bewitched knight turned on him. Despite this, he managed to rally some halflings into a fighting force and helped {{Hn|Henrietta|0=}} gather as many as she could and fight her way to {{Hn|Frederick|0=}}'s [[Laboratory]]. Knowing that the [[halfling|halflings]] wouldn't escape without a distraction, Tavin took it upon himself to lead the [[Kreegan|Kreegans]] away, seemingly at the cost of his own life.

His years of military service served him well, however, and Tavin single-handedly led the [[Kreegan|Kreegans]]’ chasing party on a false trail, making them believe there was a full squad of {{Cn|Halfling Grenadier}}s lurking in the woods. Initially, he invested all his strength into surviving on his own, but later began to find some companions and free some slaves, eventaully growing his forces into the halfling resistance known as [[Tavin's Guerillas]]. These guerillas effectively harassed the [[Kreegan|Kreegans]] all the way through the [[War of the Blade]], even killing [[Xex]] (one of the [[Kreegan]] commanders).

The most likely reason Tavin is banned by default is because he is attack oriented in contrast to [[Factory]] being a balanced/defensive faction. Also, his specialty revolves more around a brute force.
