Well done on The Mysterious Island![edit | hide | hide all]
This map is a masterpiece. I love the tone shifts between fighting other factions and rpg elements as well as being constantly surprised by hidden portals/gates. My friend and I have been playing it co-op for over a month and loving the adventure every step of the way. Hats off to you! -Legate (talk)

Thank you so much Legate for this amazing message! Really happy to hear you and your friend are enjoying the adventure together!
Co-op for over a month - that's wonderful! The map is designed primarily for solo play, so I'm curious how the experience has been with two players. Which factions did you choose? And what difficulty are you playing?
I'm really glad you're enjoying the tone shifts between faction warfare and RPG elements. That balance was something I worked hard to achieve - keeping the strategic conquest feeling while adding exploration and discovery.
The hidden portals and gates surprises are some of my favorite parts too - I love when players discover secret shortcuts or unexpected connections!
Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience. Messages like this make all the work worthwhile!
Best regards,

We've been playing Rampart and Bulwark on King difficulty - I'll submit it when we are done because there aren't many coop runs...but we've been taking it slow and completing all the quests (I think we are on month 8 and about to open up red). The coop has been really enjoyable, the main issue that we run into is based on the engine, not your level. As long as we can keep simultaneous turns, it goes fast, but if we break it accidently (sometimes we aren't even sure why it breaks), then one person has to replay their turn. Mainly its been hurting me because I have been abusing the favorable winds and Admiral's Hat for some really long turns :) I think if simultaneous turns ever gets updated to either have a no-break coop option or to restart automatically at the end of a non-simul turn, this map would definitely benefit.
I also recently realized that another one of our favorite fan-made maps - The Devil is in the Detail - was "officially" included in HotA at some point. If you have any interest in that, there are a couple members of the HotA crew on our discord that you might be able to contact. Either way, keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to your next creation! -Legate (talk)
