- As alluded to in Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor, Welnin is also the name of the whole Contested Lands area that spans Mosswood, Cloverfield and Forestdale.
- Two towns are mistakenly named Welnin in Independence, the "real" Welnin evidently being the player's starting town.
