== CSS style when hovering links ==
since the links are stylised to the game's menu style, it would be nice to have a decent hover effect to mimic the effect from the game when hovering over the icons :)
(I wanted to post an example image to see the effect, but since my account is freshly created I am not allowed to.)

Pre-2024 Menu Overhaul

Guidelines for Talk pages

Please click the "+" tab to ad a new section (new sections should be added at the end of a talk page), or if you are replying to someone, indent your contribution with one or more colons (:). Finally, please sign your contributions with four tildes (~~~~). Regards, Memetics 09:01, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Nice wiki you got here, but some tips, change the headline "Comments" to "notes" and use the talk page — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.236.214.237 (talkcontribs) 18:58, 6 September 2011

Suplementy

Hello everyone

First of all sorry that I write in this topic but I have some technical problem with the use of this forum. When I'm trying to enter in the appropriate topic, I received a 404 error It's about the only topic in which I was able to enter. Do you have the same problems? What's going on? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 127.0.0.1 (talkcontribs) 11:28, 17 February 2011

Clean-up of Talk page

Just cleaned up this Talk page: re-ordered the posts (newest section up top at bottom, oldest at bottom at the top; replies within sections indented below the original post), and added missing signatures with subst:Template:Unsigned. For newbies: Please sign your contributions on Talk pages by adding four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comment. See the Wikipedia page on signatures for help. Memetics 10:02, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Re-organized to conform with Wikimedia standards: newest sections go at end of Talk page. Adding a section at the top to inform the wiki newbies about post order and signature requirements. Memetics 09:01, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Deleting Current events link

Since we don't maintain the Current events page (the last edit was 20:59, 5 May 2008), should we delete it and remove the link in the Navigation box? Memetics 09:05, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Switching Rampart and Tower in Towns Section

The Campaign of Towns is ordered to Castle, Rampart, Tower, Inferno, Necropolis, Dungeon, Stronghold, Fortress, and Conflux.

What happened?

This site used to be the top on search engines - and it seems to have lost content too. What's the deal?

Where can we gather beyond this site?

I subscribed to Discord channel using a link on Main Page, but it seems to be inactive since 2018.--Dread Knight (talk) 09:50, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Wouldn't a new place to gather be technically just as inactive?--FirePaladin2 (talk) 10:15, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
If you're looking for other people that like Heroes 3, the other discord servers have more active people. →ima 14:01, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Possibility of other Heroes wikis?

Just wondering whether the site owner/admins would want to branch out to the other Heroes games (probably work through I and II first before tackling IV and V, etc.) as this wiki is near a state of total completion, minus lore bits and bobs. Once I (or anyone else) finishes uploading the SoD and HotA map images, the only things missing are a possible map templates list & pages, and of course the Factory information that nobody has yet. I know there are other wikis but I feel like none of them have the charm or dedication to total completion that this one and its contributors have. Thoughts? → Phasma 04:37, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Add Keybinds to Pages list?

It might be useful for people to have a quick shortcut to the Keybinds page between Horn of the Abyss and Movement on the main page for ease of access. → Phasma 11:30, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

Post-2024 Menu Overhaul

Mod Downloads

The new outlook seems handy, but can't we transfer the download links down below to the "HD Mod" section or somewhere alike? I guess HotA is so big at this point it kind of solidified its position, but should these links stay here? I would do it myself but; 1.I don't know how to (I could probably just cut and import though), 2.I don't want to change something purely aesthetic without asking first (in the main page of all places), 3.I think it has been prohibited in order to minimize interference, 4.I don't know where to. The "HD Mod" section is, well, for that purpose alone. Perhaps we could replace that icon with something more generic and rename it to something like "Related Mods"? Just spitballing really. --User:AdamEornom

While the wiki has heretofore been focused mostly on Horn of the Abyss, I would like for it be a welcome place for all things projects related to Heroes 3. I see adding these links to the main page as a gesture in this direction. –imahero 22:45, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
I can make a new menu for mods :) I'll post it on Discord later today! → Phasma 16:53, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
It's on the main menu now under a new tab & feel free to change the links as you see fit. I've linked WoG and VCMI to our pages for now! → Phasma 00:24, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
Nice work! –imahero 00:28, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

Links to SoD, AB, HotA

  • We all somehow missed links to SoD, HotA and AB. Considering that the images already have "complete", "Horn of the Abyss", "Restoration of Erathia" "Armageddon's Blade" and "Shadow of Death" in each tab, how about we use these words as a placement of a link to the appropriate expansion pages? - Csaros (talk)
    • Not a bad idea. Then we'd just be missing a link to Heroes Chronicles. --Legate (talk) 16:21, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
      • That's what the imagemaps wiki extension would be useful for, since really only the logos should be clickable in that case. I feel like the campaign pages are enough, personally, but if more people think it's a good idea then it's very doable with imagemaps. → Phasma 16:25, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

Changed Back

Why has the main page changed back to its original state? I think the new look is great. --Sanust (talk) 04:35, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

It hasn't. I just noticed that if you have a slow internet connection, the new main page takes a while to show up. So I made the legacy main page appear immediately to be replaced when the page actually finishes loading. –imahero 05:02, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
Unbelievable! That's so amazing... You really did a nice work! --Sanust (talk) 05:15, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
I liked the original. Can we get an opt-out page with old interface last? I don't like having everything splattered over several menus, that's impractical.
I added a modern/legacy toggle in the upper right corner. Let me know if you find a bug! –imahero 06:59, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

Why does the new logo for this wiki have the word "unofficial" on it? There can't be an "official wiki" for this game. -- Nick Bud (talk) 07:21, 10 February 2024 (UTC)

  • Well, that's exactly the point. It is unofficial. We don't have Ubisoft executives breathing down our backs and telling us what to put here, but we also don't have David Mullich checking if the articles are correct. This makes it unofficial - Csaros (talk)
