Horn of the Abyss 
He was captured and imprisoned by the barbarians and eventually rescued by 
Bidley. In gratitude for being saved, he told Bidley the location of Island of the Vengeful Serpent - the resting place of the 
Horn of the Abyss. But the truth was, he hoped that the pirate would die. Bidley (and maybe others) believed him to be a 
Mage.
Later, after finally getting the Horn of the Abyss, Bidley was asked to give it to Gavin Magnus by 
Solmyr. He immediately suspects Xanthor of telling them about the Horn.
