Sorceress (class)
NOTE: The terms 'Sorcerer' and 'Sorceress' are sometimes used generically to refer to any magic user.
Sorceresses are a hero class and faction in the first two Heroes of Might and Magic games. This hero class doesn't appear in Heroes of Might and Magic III normally, instead the returning heroes from this class have changed class, and the creatures from the faction were affected to the Rampart and Conflux. They all are female, and had Navigation as a starting Secondary skill in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars.
It seems, the Enrothian sorceresses are all part of the Noraston Sorceress Guild. The town of Noraston is located somewhere in the south/southeast of Enroth, in a coastal area with swamps. The Sorceresses served under Queen Lamanda during the First War of Enrothian Succession and later, under Roland Ironfist during the second war (or simply, the Succession Wars).
The campaign New Beginning focuses on telling how Gem adopted the class and traditions of the Druids after arriving on Erathia. Luna's biography explains she felt a calling when the Conflux appeared in Erathia and went to join the ranks of the Elementalists. In Horn of the Abyss, Astra is said to have joined the ![]()
Sea Witches, which are found in the Cove faction along with the ![]()
Sorceresses as a creature class, not hero class. Casmetra also claimed to be a representative of the Noraston Sorceress Guild.
