'''Border guard''' is an [[adventure map]] object, that cannot be passed until one of any player's heroes has visited a [[Keymaster's Tent]] of the corresponding color. There are eight possible colors for the border guard: red, green, light blue, dark blue, brown, purple, white and black. When any player's hero has visited a Keymaster's Tent and one of his heroes passes the associated border guard, it disappears from the map and any hero of any player can pass after that.
