Sea Witches and Sorceresses are the level 5 creatures of Cove. They can be recruited from the Tower of the Seas.

Also called Priestesses of the Sea.

"Since the poisonous demise of one King Harek at the hands of his wife, pirates saw the presence of women in their crew as a bad sign. However, when battles became wars and skirmishes became all-out fights for survival, pirates did not hesitate to call upon Sea Witches to sail with them under their banners. These dangerous women impose curses upon their enemies and strike them with magical arrows cast from their arcane spheres. Some of these learned Sorceresses came from the Enrothian Order of Sorceresses, which has existed for centuries. Despite the commitment of its well-intentioned members to their ideals of good and righteousness, there were those who sought out forbidden knowledge for their own gain. Some found their own path under Archmages across the land, others became Necromancers, and those who craved adventure and avarice above all else left to serve in Regnan fleets." Adapted from HotA Facebook post

"There is a stratum of Priestesses of the Sea in this society—they are considered full-fledged crew members, but no one forces them to scrub the deck or stretch the sails.

They can hardly be called cultists, although they observe rituals originating from the religion of some small people once assimilated by pirates. Rather, they are battle mages, supporting the crew with simple but effective spells. Male pirates largely perceive them as comrades-in-arms; but that's before going ashore, of course. It is worth noting, however, that some of these priestesses are very talented spellweavers of no smaller power than, say, druids. They command great influence and maintain close ties with the most reputable captains and admirals." -- DargemDargem Dargem

Sea Witches/Sorceresses can be split into two or more stacks to apply multiple effects in one turn. It might be a good idea to wait until Sea Witches have applied their effects before attacking with your other units, since you'll deal more damage and take less in retaliation.
