[[Heroes Chronicles]] are spread far and wide across the timeline, since after all the concept is that Tarnum is reincarnated to go deal with issues when they arise. Though the first, the one with Bracaduun, is from his mortal life, before all that. If you want to make a rough timeline, then it'd look like this:

One thing to keep in mind about the timeline, though, is that NWC didn't really care about it all that much. This is how we get two Kastores, because in the mainline games he came from Terra but he was in Heroes before that, so heck, they are just two different elves with the same name, the same class and the same face, just a coincidence... Heroes 3 took place on a brand new continent just so as to not have to deal too much with Heroes 1 and 2's continuity. And they got rid of Enroth and replaced it with Axeoth for basically the same reason.

Fact-check and grammar-check needed[edit]

Is Kastore the ruler of Deyja? What about Finneas Vilmar in the SoD campaign? Doesn't SoD occur after the Factory campaign? - Csaros (talk)

  • We should have some kind of timeline somewhere. My impression is it is HotA -> SoD -> RoE -> AB -> HC, but there might be some overlap between campaigns in an expansion (e.g. Warlords of the Wasteland is probably way in the beginning). --Legate (talk) 14:00, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
  • Factory campaign directly mentions events from the RoE campaigns. SoD campaign is definitely happening before AB, as Gelu does not have the Armageddon's Blade at his disposal. Some of the HC stories mention Bracadun, which was the kingdom that existed before Bracada was created; they must be therefore happening far in the past, before any other campaigns. - Csaros (talk) 16:49, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
  • I smell a sweet campaign timeline graphic coming on. Lets collect what we know.

Heroes Chronicles are spread far and wide across the timeline, since after all the concept is that Tarnum is reincarnated to go deal with issues when they arise. Though the first, the one with Bracaduun, is from his mortal life, before all that. If you want to make a rough timeline, then it'd look like this:

Ancient history:

"Contemporary" history.

The Bidley & Jeremy saga from HotA (Under the Jolly Roger, Terror of the Seas, Horn of the Abyss must be from slightly before Forged in Fire, because they have at least one character in common: Dargem, who appears in In Search of the Horn, Treachery, All Hands on Board!, and Dead or Alive.

Kastore took over Deyja in Might & Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer, a game in the mainline M&M series that sort of works as a sequel to Armageddon's Blade. (They kinda spread the story over both the mainline and the Heroes series: M&M6 -> Heroes 3 -> M&M 7 -> Armageddon's Blade -> M&M 8.)

Dracon kills Mutare, but dies in the process. This makes Dragon Slayer somewhat concurrent with Clash of Dragons.
