Mercenaries are the might heroes of Factory in Horn of the Abyss.
As they are heroes of a neutral town, they can get experience by sacrificing both artifacts and creatures on Altar of Sacrifice and in Grotto .
Mercenaries cannot learn Necromancy and Water Magic, which means they can only acquire it from Witch Huts (if allowed), Scholars, Seer's Huts, Pandora's Boxes or Events.
