Description

Artifacts give your hero, or your hero's creatures various bonuses and advantages.

Artifact slots

You can only have one artifact in each slot at any one time.
All artifact and special slots.
Slot 1
Weapon.
Gives bonus to Attack and sometimes other benefits.
Slot 2
Head.
Gives bonus to Knowledge and sometimes other benefits.
Slot 3
Neck. Varies greatly, but artifacts that give immunity to a certain spell are common in this class.
Slot 4
Torso.
Gives bonus to Spell Power and sometimes other benefits.
Slot 5
Rings and gloves.
Slot 6
Shield
Gives bonus to Defense and sometimes other benefits.
Slot 7
Shoulders
Slot 8
Feet
Slot 9
Misc. items.
Note: In Shadow of Death there are five such slots.
Slot A
Reserved for Ballista.
Slot B
Reserved for Ammo Cart.
Slot C
Reserved for First Aid Tent.
Slot D
Reserved for your hero's Catapult.
Slot E
Reserved for your hero's Spell Book.
Slot F
Your backpack. Where you store, up to 64, unused artifacts.

Artifact classes

Treasure artifacts

These are the lowest class artifacts, most are weak with some exceptions, and are sometimes found in Treasure Chests.

Minor artifacts

Treasure and Minor artifacts can also sometimes be bought at the Artifact Merchants.

Combination artifacts

Only available when the official expansion, Shadow of Death, is installed.
